The player and the two sisters manage to successfully travel to Lunares, but soon find out that they do not have enough wishes to restore the dome. Yuelia and her sister Noelia (who had followed her to Reveria), discover that the only way to save the world is to gather the wishes of as many people as possible and take them up to Lunares, where those wishes will restore the dome completely. This event had happened in the past once before, but was stopped by Celestia, at the cost of her never returning to Lunares. They discover soon that the Doomstones are chunks of a dome that surrounds Reveria and has been slowly falling apart. As the game progresses, the butterfly reveals that her real name and form is Yuelia, the daughter of Celestia, whom the people of Reveria worship as the Life Goddess. They are joined in this quest by a glowing butterfly that has the ability to speak. The player is asked by King Erik of the land of Castele (one of the nations of Reveria) to investigate these strange occurrences, as the meteorites (later dubbed Doomstones by the world's inhabitants) have the ability to fill creatures with dark, destructive energy. One day this peaceful state is shattered when a meteorite falls into the house of the player, setting off a chain of events foretold in an ancient prophecy involving Reveria's goddess and the moon Lunares. Its rulers spend their days ruling over their citizens and guiding them in their Life paths. The game is set in the fantasy world of Reveria, which is made up of several cities, plains, and mountains. Craft, cast, hunt and battle your way through a vast world filled with magic, dragons and ancient secrets!" Plot "All roads lead to the adventure of a lifetime!" The game has been developed by 1-Up Studio (Formerly Brownie Brown) and Level-5 alongside with the assistance of H.a.n.d. I think I’ll be moving house soon, I’ve made some nice furniture as a carpenter and took another pet ( an orange parrot) and we really need a bigger house in the country, but first I need to finish chapter three in the Tales of Lunares.English cover of the Fantasy Life video game.įantasy Life ( Japanese Japanese: ファンタジーライフ, Fantajī Raifu) is a role playing video game exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. You can roam around with your companions ( your pets and your in game friends) as much as you like, or go as quickly through the story as you want. It never gets repetitive, you can chose your own style of playing and your own pace. The story is good, yes, it has a lot of text, but I like it when a story has a bit of body. The only comparison that comes close is Rune Factory, but even that isn’t spot on. I would almost say this game isn’t easily compared to others. Because the cooking and making furniture consists more of a mini-game that reminds me of a sort of rhythm game, and it can’t get you through the main storyline. And in the same way, if you just want to cook and farm and decorate your house like in Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing, then I doubt this game will satisfy you in the end. If you expect a hardcore RPG, where you level up a party of your own by battling every enemy you come across, making use of the best qualifications every member in your party has, polishing them until they couldn’t get any better, then this is not the game you want. I guess it all depends on what you expect from the game. And you level up in both jobs too!Īlthough the overall reviews on the Internet for the game have been great, I have seen some reviews that were mediocre. Because when you’ve mastered the jobs, you can use your pickax as well as your magicians staff when you travel, no matter what uniform you wear. To make use of all resources during my quests, I was a miner after that. And because I had picked up so many carrots and milk and such, I was a cook to make some money. I have chosen to be a magician first and the alchemist after that, purely so that I could stock up on potions. I love how you can play it together with friends, and though you play the same game, each can play it in their own style because of the jobs you have chosen. This game is getting better and better for me. I suspected then that this might just be the game of the year for me, and after playing it for a week, I decided an update was in order. Last week I wrote in my blog about the start of my Fantasy Life in English after having had my first adventure in Japanese.
